Alternative Therapies for Your Kids?

There's a story in today's N&O about parents using a controversial therapy for autism. It removes heavy metals from the bodies. Some scientists say it is an "unethical experiment in voodoo medicine."

Which leads me to my question - would you or have you tried alternative therapies on your child? I might, depending on the desperation of the situation.

On the recommendation of my chiropractor, I squirted hydrogen peroxide in my son's ears (he was 18 mos at the time) when he seemed like he was getting a cold, which would probably lead to an ear infection. The 2-second treatment worked! After the stuff fizzed, I noticed a huge clump of wax in his ear canal a few hours later and I pulled it out. He could have missed more daycare and would have gone to the doctor again if I hadn't tried this cheap and easy treatment.
