Babysitting co-ops

There's a story in The N&O today about interest in babysitting co-ops where parents swap services with each other.

I know there are several neighborhoods in North Raleigh that have at least had these in the past ... Harrington Grove comes to mind. Have you participated in one before? What was your experience?

We belonged to one at our church when my kids were younger. It was such a life saver-there were 25 families, and we had an elaborate system with beads that worked really well. It was perfect for a time, but then after I got to 4 kids it became too much for me to reciprocate....but it's a great idea because who else is availabe on weekdays besides other moms, and who do you trust more than another mom? Also we did lots of social things together, as families, and just the moms!
