Be A Mom
We Moms pride ourselves on our juggling skills and our ability to multitask. We congratulate each other on our creative strategies for getting everyone everywhere. We work, we PTA and we just generally GET THINGS DONE!
The other day I got an awakening thanks to my 12-year old son. He asked if I could take him to Hit and Run for some batting practice. Figuring he would be busy for about 45 minutes, I grabbed my computer figuring I could get about a half-hour of work in while I was waiting for him.
He quietly and respectfully said, “Mom, please don’t bring your computer.” Something in the sound of his voice made me put it down and grab my knitting bag instead. When we got in the car, I asked him why he didn’t want me to bring my computer. He said, “Sometimes I just want you to be a Mom.”
Point taken.
