Bed Time
I hate to be the one to tell you, but the bedtime struggle? It doesn't seem to get any easier. Right now at 9:41 p.m., I still hear my two boys (11 and 13) who are SUPPOSED to be in bed at 8:30 because they need to get up at the ungodly 6 a.m. for school.
Every morning, they moan, they groan, they complain. Why do we have to go to school? Why does school have to start soooo early? (Okay, I'm with them on that one.)
Okay, I tell them. You want more sleep. Studies show that kids your age need a good ten hours of sleep. But you have to get up in the morning, so the only way to get more sleep is to go to bed EARLIER.
Nope. Doesn't work.
Maybe they have to get to their 40s before they gleefully realize that it's a Friday night and nothing is preventing them from going to bed early. To go to sleep.
