Best Weekend Bets: Halloween, State Fair and plenty of other activities

The State Fair wraps up this weekend. Check out our Fair Tips if you haven't already.

And the calendar is chock full of Halloween activities. Check the Halloween Guide for more information.

But there are a few non-fair, Halloween activities this weekend.

Morehead Planetarium and Science Center will hold its monthly skywatching session from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday night at Little River Regional Park near Hillsborough.

N.C. Symphony members will show off their instruments and talk about what they do at Marbles in Raleigh from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. during Super Symphony at Marbles

Duke Gardens in Durham will offer some free informal crafts from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday. The project this weekend is sand paintings in a jar.

And there's a Bicycle Rodeo in Cary from 1 p.m to 4:30 p.m. Sunday at Koka Booth Amphitheatre. The event is for kids ages 5 to 12. Pre-registration is required.

As always, there's more on the Mom2Mom calendar
