Best Weekend Bets: Horse show, a parade, Snoopy and more

The annual Duke Children's Hospital Benefit Horse Show opened at the N.C. State Fairgrounds on Tuesday and runs through Sunday. It's free (except for Saturday night) and open to the public. Events start at 8 a.m. Friday night is Family Fun Night starting at 5:30 p.m. featuring a stick horse race at 6:45.

It's a big weekend at the fairgrounds. The 25th annual Train and Railroadiana Show and Sale also runs Saturday and Sunday. Kids under age 6 get in for free.

The N.C. Veteran's Day Parade is Saturday in downtown Raleigh.

Snoopy!!! The Musical opens Friday at the Raleigh Little Theatre and runs through Nov. 22.

And it's Colossal Collard Day at the State Farmers Market in Raleigh on Friday from about 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.Buy some collards and try this recipe for Collard Slaw.
