Best Weekend Bets: International festival, Railroad Days, consignment sales and more

We've got about a week before Halloween events really take over the calendar. But there's still a lot to do this weekend ...

The International Festival at Raleigh's Convention Center runs Friday through Sunday and includes Sophie's Corner with face painting, storytelling, games and other activities for kids. Kids 12 and under also are free.

Selma's 34th Annual Railroad Days Festival runs Friday and Saturday with live music, a parade, model train displays, carnival and more.

Kidz Stuff and Carolina Kids consignment sales run this weekend. Kidz Stuff is in Raleigh. Carolina Kids is in Smithfield.

Raleigh's annual Kidsfest features food, entertainment, rides and other activities from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday.

And New Hope Valley Railway has its monthly ride on Sunday. Get there early to get your desired departure time, which starts at 11 a.m.

As always, there's more on the Mom2Mom calendar.
