Best Weekend Bets: Natural History Halloween, Family Day at Duke Gardens and of course ... Halloween

I'm guessing pretty much all of our attentions will be on Halloween this weekend. The big day is Saturday. Check the Mom2Mom Halloween Guide for all your corn mazes, haunted houses and activities that last through the weekend and, in some cases, through early November.

A few highlights ...

There's the Natural History Halloween at the N.C. Museum of Natural Sciences on Saturday where you can meet animals such as snakes, spiders and gators.

And the N.C. Symphony's Young People's Series will present The Phantom of the Orchestra on Saturday at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

New Hope Valley Railroad will hold its Fall Steam Spectacular Saturday and Sunday with train rides and lots of other activities.

Sign up for Raleigh's annual Scarecrow Festival at Pullen Arts Center. The event is free, but scarecrow-making supplies are limited. The event is Nov. 7.

As always, there's more on the Mom2Mom calendar. Happy Halloween!
