Bond Park

Looking for a place where the kids can run around and burn off some energy?   Fred G. Bond Metro Park in Cary is just the place.

Take a walk or bicycle ride along the shady, winding trails. Or, if you’re more ambitious, take a run along the fitness trail, with different stops along the way to get your heart pumping.

Let the kids run up and down the rolling hills near the community center, or watch a fall or spring baseball or softball game on one of the seven fields.

Check out the Lazy Daze playground, hidden on the east side of the park, between fields 3 and 4.

Next, stop at the Bond Park Community Center for a quick drink of water, restroom stop or snack from the snack machines. Or, bring your own food and have a picnic at one of the nearby shelters.

Then, amble over to Bond Lake and rent a canoe, pedal boat, sailboat or even a rowboat for a nominal fee. (Boathouse is open April – Oct.)

The nice people at Bond Lake will even come out and tow you back in case you get stuck on the lake.  Not that I would know anything about that.

Bond Park: 801 High House Road, Cary.  469-4100
