I'll recommend mine. Cary Women's Center has three great OBs: Dr. Flanagan, Dr. Clayton and Dr. Tahtawi. All three doctors are women. The nurses there are wonderful, too. I was well taken care of during my four miscarriages, infertility issues and two full-term pregnancies. The office is not in North Raleigh, but worth the trip.Hope this helps!!
Thank you so much! I certainly don't mind drive times if it's well worth it! Thanks again! :)
I love the doctors at Raleigh OB-GYN. They are connected to Rex Hospital. Dr. Lara Fisher in my regular doctor but Dr. Segal delivered my daughter and he was wonderful! I highly recommend them- you can actually get a nurse to answer the phone or call you back quickly!
I have to disagree about Cary Women's Center. I don't mean to bad mouth anyone but I need to warn you about my experience. I also know several people who have had problems with them.
Two women, I recently met, both left the practice during their pregnancy because they were so unhappy with the treatment and care they were receiving. I stayed with them and delivered my baby but I will not go back to them again. They brushed off my extreme morning sickness and weight loss as normal. They made me get 4 routine ultra sounds when many other practices only require 2. They forced me to be induced even though I passed my non stress test with flying colors, felt great, and have a family history of late deliveries. I was less than a week late and this was my first. I was not dialated AT ALL but they gave me pitosin. After more than 24 hours, I was still not dialated at all but they kept inducing! They gave me more pitoson and a foley bulb. After 40 hours, I was ready to push and my heart rate jumped to 250. I was an otherwise healthy individual. Who knows why this happend but I'm sure being on Pit for 40 hours straight didn't help. Worst of all, it was totally unnecessary. There was no medical reason to induce me WHATSOEVER. Unfortuanely, I trusted them and was too much of a pushover to put my foot down.
I recognize that things happen but in looking back, doing my own research, and speaking with others, I have realized that I did not receive great care. Plus, I once waited 3 hours for my appt.
The nurses were nice and I loved the idea of all women. Dr. Flannigan is a really friendly lady, also, but I do not recommend this practice at all.
I go to Centre OB-GYN and I think they are great. When I moved back here 6-1/2 years ago I asked a friend whose opinion really counts for something who she recommended. I've been going ever since. At the time I had not planned on having more children (we had 1 and I was perfectly happy about that), so was content to see the NP. After 4 years we decided to try for baby #2. At that point you have to see a doctor, which was perfectly fine with me. At Centre you see the same doc for your 1st trimester then you have to see all the docs (not at the same time!) after that, so you will get to know them all. Why? Because one of them is always on call at Rex, so you are guaranteed to have your own doctor deliver your baby.
Coincidentally, my 2 cousins also go there (they moved here after I did), but found Centre on their own as well. We've all had great experiences there. The wait times have been quite short... I rarely got to read any magazine articles!
I have to second Centre OB/Gyn at Rex.

I love Drs. Collins and Howell, but all are good.
Brannon and Rogers in Cary. Absolutely awesome. Rogers is my personal favorite, but both are amazing. Rogers takes more time, a little warmer if you need a little more hand holding. Brannon is a little more into keeping things moving and has a wicked sense of humor. Both are phenomonal drs, they have nine kids between them, family men, in their 40's and both easy on the eyes. (well, it can't hurt, can it?:-)
Yep, I know it's a late reply to the original post, but I need to give Raleigh OB/Gyn a shout out! :)
Dr. Lara Fisher delivered both of my kids. She's wonderful. She's down to earth, and you can share your concerns or ask a million questions.
