Changing Hats
The TriangleMom2Mom Web site debuted last spring. Since then, I have written weekly about just about anything. I have shared the tales of family trips and date nights of ER visits and everyday events of the economy downturn and BPA cups. Today, I write my final blog.
As I thought about what to write, I remembered my first blog. I introduced myself and described the many hats that I wear in life. Just like you, I wear many. I wrote that I was a woman, a mother, an entrepreneur, a wife, an engineer, a daughter, a writer, a friend, and, even, a runner.
While most of the hats remain, I find the person wearing them has subtly changed. When my father passed in the spring, I took a final step into adulthood. I was no longer his little girl. When we sold our business in the summer, I needed to redefine my entire career path. I was no longer on the fast track (or any track for that matter). When chronic pain led to two abdominal surgeries in the fall, I learned that good health is never guaranteed. I was far from my days as an invincible teenager. This year has taught me not about changing the hats I wear, but changing the priority in which I wear them.
With the end of this blog, it is time for another subtle change. My involvement with TriangleMom2Mom has been a joy. I loved learning about the community and reading the posts of others. I loved connecting with other mothers and garnering their tips. The suggestions for surviving a family road trip were invaluable. I loved meeting fellow moms in person through many fun Mom2Mom events. Above all, I loved sharing my stories with you. Stories aside, I look forward to continuing my involvement in the Mom2Mom community. Between the advice, the events calendar, the free coupons, and the blogs, it is my mommy’s helper on the Web.
Good luck and best wishes. Thank you for letting me share my stories with you.
Gigi has appeared on Fridays on TriangleMom2Mom. This is her final post as a featured blogger. However, she will continue to write regularly at her Stroller Lane.

I'll miss you Gigi!!! We really should get together sometime...your girls would love my daughter. Little girls idolize teen girls. It's the perfect symbiotic relationship!
