City of Raleigh Activities offered

There is a pdf full of class offerings for kids, teens, adults, etc here -

I was thinking about enrolling my 18 month old in one of the music classes.
Has anyone ever done a music class through the City? If so, were you happy with it?

I have done demo classes at Gymboree and Kindermusik and was not that impressed for the cost they require. The City is much cheaper, but won't offer a demo. You pay and if you don't like it too bad, so that is why I ask.

THanks in advance!

Jessica

We have done a ton of classes through the city. The quality varies widely based on the instructor. Is it the music class at Sertoma? We did those when my kids were little and they were good. I have also heard great things about the ones at Laurel Hills. For older kids, we LOVE Miss Alice at Green road (she teaches theme classes on Thursday am).

There is a music class at Sertoma:
MUSICAL BEGINNINGS - 1 month - $36 - In this class infants and toddlers participate in age-appropriate musical activities including instrument play, singing, bouncing, and dancing to fun songs. Focus will be on development of rhythm and fine motor skills. The program is based on John Feierabend's 'First Steps in Music for Infants and Toddlers.' Parent/caregiver attends with child. To avoid distraction issues, only the child registered for the class may attend. Jessica Roberts instructs.

And one at Lake Lynn:
HARVEST HARMONIES - 3 months - $120 - The air is getting chilly so turn up the heat in this lively class for our youngest music lovers. We will explore the magic of Autumn through song, educational games and dramatic play for tiny toes. Your child will learn about pumpkins, fall leaves, apples, harvest time and many other Fall concepts as we sing our way through the season. Special events include art and craft projects, pumpkin picking and much more! Each child will receive a music bag which contains a CD of the music used in our class. Parent participation is required. A supply fee of $10 is payable to the instructor at the first class.

They are for similar ages, and I am trying to decide which one.

Thanks,
Jessica
