dance/instrument classes for three yr. old
Hi,
I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on dance, art, or music classes for 3 yr. olds. My daughter was in a two day preschool last year but I am hesitant to put her back in the same school... Although its a great school and she loved it, she is arleady being 'bored' by school as she knows her numbers, letters, can essentially read and is excelling in art, all of which are the focus in this school's 3 classroom. She was already in the habit of giving wrong answers on purpose... because she thought it was funny. I felt if I could find something that challenged her... slightly more advanced art, dance a musical instrument... I could keep her from being bored and learning to disdain school at an early age.

My DD's somewhat younger than yours (she's 2.5), but we both really enjoyed Kindermusik. Each term, the kids get a 2-disc CD set, some books, and a musical instrument, then the classes each week focus on different songs and instruments. We really liked it, particularly the classes taught by Miss Julia.
I'm pretty sure Kindermusik in Cary is doing camps all summer. You could sign your daughter up for one and see how she likes it.
NC Theatre has a Conservatory in North Raleigh that teaches pre-dance for ages 3-5. Tito Hernandez is the instructor and he is great with the kids. Only pre-requisite is potty training! Check out the website at www.nctheatre.com or call the Conservatory at 855-0015.
