I have said this before and I'll say it again: I've got a big problem with dog owners who 1. let their dog poop in my yard and don't pick it up and 2. let their dogs off leash and think it's so cute when it comes tumbling up to my daughter.

I'm sure Fido is a sweetheart, but how am I to know? And how is my daughter to know that those are friendly barks, not vicious ones?

There's been a bit of discussion about this in North Raleigh. For complete disclosure, I wrote a story this week about the city's attempts to build dog parks in North Raleigh. And my editor Matthew Eisley added his thoughts in this column. He basically says the city should open more dog parks so dogs can be banned from the rest.
