France bans TV for children under 3

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/26312386/

This is what I have to say lol, and I may get bashed for it, but hey, it's America, we are all entitled to our opinion.

I got this in an email from Sign 2 Me. I will not say that kids do not learn from TV, but they don't NEED to. Wyatt has yet to watch anymore then an hour of TV in one day in the last 18 months, and he has almost 200 words and is just way too smart for his age! We are actually told NOT to promote TV (even Signing Time, a partner!) to children under 3 in our classes.

I just do not see why you would have to use TV at all. There are millions of other things you can do during the day that do not require the TV! Even Wyatt, at 18 months, will help me clean the house, or get dinner ready by handing me things.

Whatever happened to parent interaction!? I am a SAHM, but when I worked, the LAST thing I wanted to do was com home and plop Nick (the only one who has attended day care) in front of the TV. I wanted to spend as much time with him as possible!
