Getting Back in Shape After 2nd Baby

How do you get back into your pre-pregnancy shape after your 2nd (or 3rd or 4th) baby? I have a 5 month old and a 5-year-old. It's not as easy as the first one... I had dresses that fit me while I was 5 months pregnant and didn't fit me a month ago. My 5-year-old thought I had another baby in my tummy after I wore a too-tight T-shirt. Then I went on a strict diet and lost 5 lbs. What's your exercise/diet regimen?

I have a 9 week old and a 3 year old, so I can definitely relate with you on this one. In the beginning, I found it simple to eat the healthy foods and drink lots of water. As my maternity leave has gotten longer, I've gotten a little bit more bored so I think I'm hungry more, which isn't the case. I've had a hard time training my mind to realize I only want something to eat because I'm bored. I've been trying to take some walks with my baby when my toddler isn't around, but I'm not sure how to incorporate the toddler into the walk when my husband isn't home.

My youngest is almost 2 years old and I'm still struggling a bit. I'm at home too and eat when I'm bored or just at specific times of the day, such as when my daughter is napping even if I'm not hungry. I am good about getting 8 glasses of water in a day and am trying to stick to whole foods, like fruits, vegetables and proteins, rather than snack on crackers and peanut butter (my major weakness). It's hard though. I can make a snack out of anything.

Since my kids are a little older than yours, I'm really comfortable taking them to the gym and try to go three times a week. That really helps. When my daughter was younger and would cry at the gym, I would take her on really early morning jogs and walks, before the rest of my family woke up.

Alice- What was your strict diet?

My youngest is 3 months and the only thing I've done is breastfeed. It's amazing how much weight I've lost from that, but my body isn't the same and I'm still not where I need to be.

I've had two c-sections, so I have the "lip" that hangs over the scar. It's worse since the second one. I'm trying to accept it for what it is.

If I ever have a moment when I don't feel like I've been run over by a truck I guess I'll start exercising. Right now I try not to over do it on the food, but I love all the things that are bad for me.

I am in need of a lifestyle change.

Hi guys, thanks for all of your comments! My strict diet was the Isagenix 9-Day Cleanse and what is does is flood your body with nutrients and you just eat shakes, their snacks, "root" juice and 1 sensible lunchtime meal and tons of water. After the Cleanse you realize that you don't need that large a portion or you crave fruit when before you wanted ice cream b/c you know the fruit won't wreck your diet. I've gained back 2 lbs since the Cleanse, but my hips/thighs are much leaner.I'm also trying to go to the Y 1 more time in the week (I go 3x a week).
