Gingersnaps

Today's my cookie making day. And among the cookies that I'll be making are these delicious gingersnaps.

My sister-in-law shared this recipe with the rest of the family seven Christmases ago. We've made them ever since.

Gingersnaps

1 cup turbinado or raw sugar

3/4 cup crisco

1 egg

4 tablespoons molasses

2 cups flour

2 teaspoons baking soda

1 teaspoon ginger

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon cloves

1 teaspoon salt

Preheat oven to 375. Cream together the sugar and crisco. Add the egg and molasses. Beat well. Sift the dry ingredients and add to the above. Roll into a ball and dip into turbinado or raw sugar. Bake about 9 minutes. Cookies will be soft, not crispy.
