Harvey Karp's coming

Harvey Karp -- the pediatrician behind the very popular "The Happiest Baby on the Block" and "The Happiest Toddler on the Block" -- will be in Durham next week.

His books promise surefire ways to get your baby to fall asleep and cut down on toddler tantrums. I haven't tried them (though probably should have), but I know there are devotees out there. (Did it really work for you?)

His trip to the Triangle is part of Welcome Baby's 20th anniversary celebration. The group offers support and services to parents of young children in Durham. Karp will speak from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., May 22. Registration is required and Durham residents get first dibs. The cost is $5 per family.

Call 560-7341 or e-mail paharris@co.durham.nc.us to reserve a space.
