Hello. Who Am I?
Featured blogger Gigi Harrell will appear every Friday.
Hello. This is the first entry of a brand new blog on a brand new Web site. I would guess the first question you want to know is who am I?
Who am I? I am a mom.
Like other moms, I have the station wagon to prove it. It is fully weighted with car seats, strollers, spare diapers, a half pound of spilled Cheerios, random pieces of broken toys and the faint aroma of spilled milk. I am a mom.
Like other moms, my job is multifaceted. I am the short-order chef and the laundry queen. I am the boo-boo healer and the toy finder. I am the schedule planner and the playdate maker. I am the chauffeur, the butler, the maid and the household CEO. I am a mom.
Like other moms, I don't get paid, but I have the best job in the world. I have two beautiful daughters, ages 4 and 1 1/2. They test my patience. They demand my attention. They make a mess. But much more importantly, they give a love and joy to my life that I never knew existed before having children.
Who am I? I am a mom, but I am many other things too. I am a woman, an entrepreneur, a wife, an engineer, a daughter, a writer, a friend and a runner.
Who am I? I am Gigi Harrell. Each day, I strive to manage myself, the kids, our marriage, the house and a small business all without losing my car keys. I look forward to writing this blog about my journey as a mom in the Triangle. It will be full of my personal parenting tales, tips, triumphs and turmoil. It will be the things we all experience, the stuff of life as a mom.
Who am I? I'll let you decide. Just keep reading each week and you will know me well before long.

We have a similar situation ... looking forward to your weekly postings!
I just got done reading a book that sounds similar to what you outline above, which is of course similar to what goes through my head every day. It's by another local writer, and you might find it interesting. It's called MojoMom and you can find out more information at http://www.mojomom.com.
