Hi!

You've discovered a new Web site dedicated to moms in the Triangle.

TriangleMom2Mom.com is developed by The News & Observer. We offer daily information about food, outdoors activities, events and other topics. And we have a new offering from one of our local featured mom bloggers every day.

But our goal is to build a community for moms to meet, talk, share and help. Once you register, you can write in your own blog, ask questions in a forum and get tips from other moms in the area. Logons for newsobserver.com or triangle.com also will work on TriangleMom2Mom.com.

We're only a few weeks old. Some sections - the forums and photos sections, particularly - need you. Please, share photos. Start discussions. Ask questions. Meet other moms like you.

We also ask for your patience. This site isn't perfect. We are ironing out some of the final details. Tell us what you like and don't like. What you want to see. What you want to know. What you can't find. You know what you need. Tell us how we can help you find it.

And come meet us! We'll have an official launch party from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., May 10, at Marbles Kids Museum in downtown Raleigh. There will be all the fun at Marbles, plus live entertainment from Cotton the Clown, Trish Miller and the Sandbox band. Normal admission to Marbles applies ($5 per person), but we will have other deals and some giveways.

I'm Sarah Lindenfeld Hall, a reporter for The News & Observer and the mom of a 3-year-old girl. I'll be writing a blog on activities for kids, moms groups and anything else that might interest moms. And I'm your guide for the site.

Please don't hesitate to e-mail me or call me at (919) 829-8983 with any questions or concerns.

Thanks for popping in. And please, come back.

After graduating from the University of Virginia, she traipsed a bit around Europe and Mount Airy, N.C., before settling down in the Triangle. She moved here in 1999 to take a job with The News & Observer. She once aspired to play flute professionally. More recently, her daughter started crying when she played it.

Hi Sarah! The site looks great. I notice the "beta" in the logo - how much do you think the site will change over the next few months?

Thanks! Over the next couple of months or sooner, we'll see some improvements to the calendar, better features for searching our membership directory, RSS feeds and opportunities for e-mail digests. We also want to hear from users about what they'd like to see, what they have trouble finding on the current site and make changes accordingly.
