How Far Would You Go To Help Your Kid

There's a story in The N&O today about a 65-year-old mom, who is expecting her first grandchild this year, who hauled drugs up and down the east coast to pay off medical bills for herself and her daughter.

I'm thinking there must be another way. Then again, if you're desperate, how far would you go to help your child?

Hhmm. I love my daughter slightly more than is reasonable, but I still don't think I'd break the law for her. Then again, I've never been financially desperate.

My soon to be 12-year-old son is struggling academically. I'm facing a decision of leaving the career I've spent my adulthood to build. Of course, that's putting things in the most simplistic of terms and there's more to it than that. I've had some health challenges as well and am just finding it impossible to "do it all" with a significant commute daily - so I'm trying to figure my way through what likely will be an enormous transition in my life. BUT.... would I give up my career or alter it in this situation - you bet.
