In the hustle and bustle of everyday life...

Mom of two ACTIVE boys, wife of a law enforcement officer, employeer of two creatives and one organizer, co-owner of my own business, manager/coach to my youngest son's T-ball team...

How does one breathe?!  Do you think I need anything else to do?!  It's my life.  I've been made this way and I don't know what I would do any other way!  Being a busy, working mom there are challenges.  I can say that my business partner and I can help you with just a small portion of that hustle and bustle.

If you want to breastfeed, work and/or just be on the go, but continue to breastfeed we want to try and give you some inspiration.  Let me just tell you if Tobi (my biz partner) can pump on the back of a fire engine on the way to a call, you and I can pump in the privacy of our own office, work place or even home!  Yes, Tobi really did that.  Tobi is a firefighter/parametic and when she finally went back to work she wanted to continue breastfeeding her daughter.  14 guys at the station couldn't believe how open she was about it all and she even threatened their lives if they touched any of the expressed milk bottles she kept in the frig at the station!  (You know how guys can be with other guys!)  She was bound and determined to breastfeed/pump as long as possible - she ended up at about a year.

I nursed for about 4-6 months with both of mine.  It was more difficult for me on several different levels, but I did the best I could under the circumstances.  Tobi and I both had to face challenges during the breastfeeding times - is my baby getting enough, latching and even storage of the expressed breast milk.  Tobi's mom and husband both had Ashlyn for Tobi's first 24 hour shift.  With all of Ashlyn's feedings in that 24 hours, they wasted a total of TEN OUNCES of milk.  For those of you who have breastfed/pumped before or are doing it now can witness, 10 oz is a lot!  Needless to say, Tobi was very upset.  She made due (like I said earlier).  Now new products are out there that make sense!

I have learned so much over the last several years from my side business that if I could go back in time I would and change so many things that I did wrong when it came to breastfeeding.  We don't have a lot of time to cherish our children and in whatever way possible even if it is breastfeeding, remember take your time and learn all you can.
