Hi, I'm Melinda. I am a stay at home mom of 2 beautiful girls, 2 years and the other 4 months. Was never going to have children, and now, poof-here I am. 36 years old, staying at home, gave up my career as a teacher, struggle with that decision almost daily, BUT...could never be happier. I know I made the right decision, but will not lie, being a SAHM is the hardest job I have ever had. Anyway, always looking to connect with people, share stories, get advice and help guide others. Saw this web site info in the N&O and thought I would check it out.
Hi Ladies! My name is Julie. I am also a sahm to one little girl who is 18 months old. My husband and I moved to Raleigh in August and we love it here. About two months ago I started writing a blog called evolvingmom.com. I write mostly about my weight loss journey and things related to that and motherhood. I really love blogging and I am so excited to see this new community forming!
And Melinda, you are so right. Being a sahm is way tougher than I ever imagined, especially when you want to be a good one. I find it refreshing that you are so honest about it. Hang in there!
My name is Natalie and I have a 4-year-old son and a nearly 2-year-old daughter. I blog here http://dayatthepark.blogspot.com/ and on this site. My blog runs on Sunday.
Julie: I just looked over your blog and I love it. I'll add it to my daily read. I think it's wonderful that you are writing about your weight loss journey. I don't have the guts to detail that kind of information on my blog so I stick to the silly things my kids do. Anyway, good for you.
Melinda: Good to meet you. I, too, struggle with my decision to stay home, even though I really do love my new life at home. Sometimes I just need to remind myself how lucky I am to have this chance.
I look forward to hearing more for you two on this site.
Hi...just wanted to introduce myself. I'm a 35 year old SAHM to two boys, 4.5 and 2. We moved to Raleigh about a year and a half ago. I'm looking forward to hearing what local moms have to say!
I am a 36 yr. old mom of 2 stepchildren and 2 children of my own ranging in age from 2-18. Only 3 still live at home (15 yr old son, 14 yr old daughter and 2.5 yr old son) with my oldest stepdaughter recently starting her life as a new wife and brand new mom to my grandson who is 4 weeks old! All of this and a full time job as well! I totally agree with you that being a SAHM is the hardest job ever. Staying at home would make me crazy so kudos to all of you who do that and more each day! I love this site and have shared it will all of the moms that I run across at the high school, middle school and preschool.
Hi-I'm Beth. 38. I work FT and have two little ones-4y and 7mo. We live in Raleigh and have been here for about 5 1/2 years. I'm interested to see this site really "take off"...it seems well done...now, we just need to bring on the moms!
Hello Everyone! My name is Heather and I am a 35-year-old mother of two. My son is 6 and my daughter is 3 (will be 4, going on 18 in June!). I just discovered this site and am very excited. It will be nice to discuss everyday issues with other moms. I stayed home for a couple of months after each of my children were born and learned quick that staying at home wasn't for me. I do struggle with my decision because I feel so rushed to get everything done and still spend quality time with my kids.
Hey everybody--I'm Kristin and like the previous poster, I am also a 35-year-old (how did that happen?) mom of two. I have two girls, ages 3.5 and 6 months. I also stayed home for a few months after each of my girls was born. I enjoyed my time at home, but the best fit for me is working part time. Unfortunately, in order to keep my benefits at work, to afford childcare, and to stay on top of things at work, I am working more hours than I'd really like to. Still, I am fortunate to have a really flexible employer who allows me to work from home when I need to. I find that I have to make a conscious effort to scale back some of my expectations around the house in order to have enough quality time with my girls. I'm looking forward to reading more about all of your experiences!
Hi Everyone. My name is Cindy. I'm a 47-year-old first-time Mom of two year adopted twins from China (went to China 18 mos ago).....was married more than 20 years before we went to China. It's definitely a wonderful exciting...and exhausting....adventure being a Mom to toddler twins! :) I also have been very career-oriented (easy to do all those years without children!!) and I continue to work full-time as I truly love my work. I hope to meet and hear about other Moms who juggle the full-time work and children balance....esp. those Moms who are juggling toddlers and full-time. I'm hoping this site can help me take advantage of all the wonderful resources the Triangle has to offer for families. We've lived here almost 20 years but honestly did not pay any attention to the things happening around here for children!! -Cindy
HI, looking forward to sharing with other moms. I've been a mom for 17 years, and have been in Cary for 11 years, so I hope to both give and get advice!
Hello. My name is Erin and am 33 year old new mom to a 10 week old. I will be returning to work full time on June 2 and am looking forward to sharing and LEARNING from other moms. I am excited about this site and look forward to sharing my experiences with others as well.
Hello. My name is Frankie and I am probably the oldest mom that has been on this blog. I have 2 boys, ages 28 and 21 that I raised as a single parent and I had a job as a full time social worker( which required lots of over time). I am now a stay at home mom to 2 girls age 6 and 8. I am so glad I have had this opportunity but it sure has been hard sometimes. Just as hard I might add as being a working mom but for very different reasons. This site seems to be cool and I hope it includes ideas for mom's with kid's of all ages. It is nice to find somewhere to just share with others.
Best of luck as a SAHM! I've been a SAHM throughout both my kids lives! Besides the occasional part-time work which happened here and therefor diversion but never passion, my major job was always as a mom. Wish I had six more kids to raise--seriously. My two are teenagers.
Hello. My name is Heidi and I'm a mother of a 18 month old little girl. I work only a few days a week. I love what I do for a living and it's a good balance for me. I can't imagine working full time and doing all that some of you do, bless you. Perhaps as my daughter gets older and starts school then I can work f/t. I'd love to talk to Julie that has the 18 month old that moved to Raleigh. We are considering moving there. We are too close to Tampa and it is one of the worst crime areas especially with children. I look forward to visiting this site. It's just what I need, someone that can relate! :-) Thank you!
Thanks so much for joining the site! Raleigh is a great place to live (http://www.trianglemom2mom.com/content/raleigh-ranked-no-2-best-place-live-we-knew) let us know if you have any questions!
Hi
I'm Angel, a divorced single parent (I think I've always been a single parent now that I think about it) of 2 girls...one in middle school and one is a rising freshman. I just enjoy some adult conversation and socializing every now and then. The site appealed to me so I decided to give it a try. Hopefully, I won't feel like I'm the only one juggling all of life activities and get some good advice if needed.
Hello ... as I have been reading I see I'm not the only one who waited a "little later" to have children. My name is Terry and I am a 37 year old full-time working mom to 2 boys ages 6 and 7mths. I have been married for nine years. I love sharing "mommy" issues as well as bragging about my little guys ... (the baby has his 1st tooth!!!) I live about 45 miles south of Raleigh.
Hello Ladies. My name is Julie and I am a 38 year old divorced mom of 5 and working full time both inside and outside the home! My children are 13 (rising freshman in high school), 10 (only girl), 4 (rising kindergartener), 3 1/3 and 14 months old. I was a SAHM for 13 years and have recently returned to working outside the home full time. I have sole custody of the children and their father is allowed supervised visitation, which we are not currently participating in. So it is just me trying to juggle it all. I have been in Raleigh for 17 years and am looking forward to being able to communicate with other mothers...
Hi There! I'm Heather...I'm 27 and have a 20 month old son named Damien. My husband is Tony. We live in Clayon and we like it, but miss the city sometimes. Anyway, we both work full time and we love spending time with our little man when we aren't working. We also love movies (when we get a chance to catch one) and music...making it, listening to it, etc. I'm so excited to meet some local moms...I haven't been able to meet very many people with my work schedule! Okay, so that's pretty much it...
Okay Julie, you have the juggling award for the most impressive work load. FIVE kids, full time job, single mom, AND a 14 month old!!!!! Uh... Okay all you moms that think you have it rough with a devoted spouse and one kid, think again. Hope you've got a super support system built up from 17 years in Raleigh. I'm sure you've got a lot to teach other moms here--that is, if you ever find time to blog here. Welcome.
Thanks, A1Mama. I do have my Mother in town, who is a HUGE support. I couldn't do it without her. But despite living here for 17 years, I have not had a support group of friends. I guess I am still working on that... :o)
Luckily, I do have a great job (with plenty of paid time off when needed) and great kids. And I am hoping to find the time to check in and chat. I'd love to do my own blog, but have no idea how to even start. Any ideas?
Hi Julie - My mom is in town and it's so nice to have that to fall back on and just so my daughter can have a relationship with her.
On the blog - write about whatever you like. Doesn't have to be fancy - a funny story from the day, a gripe, whatever is on your mind. Let me know if you have any other questions!
Guess if I'm going to keep posting I should introduce myself ;-)
I'm Stacie! My boys are 3 and 6 months. I work full time outside of the home. Moved to Raleigh from GA in 2000 and imported my husband from Texas in 2001 ;-D Now that he's loosened his grip on his cowboy boots and hat, he agrees with me that this is an incredible place to live and raise our family.
Hi, my name is Jenny- I love living here in the Triangle area. This is where I met my husband, and after living everywhere from San Diego, CA to Saratoga Springs, NY, we thought that Cary was the best place we'd been to raise a family. I'm 32 and have a 6 1/2 year old son and a 4 3/4 year old daughter. They will both be in school full time starting on July 7th, so I have a world of change coming my way. In my free time I've been developing a business plan that will hopefully keep me busy while they're in school- wish me luck!
Hi I'm Lauren. I'm 21 years old & mommy to Isis, who will be 3 years old in August. Our nationality is Cape Verdean, looking for others in the area if there are any. We moved to Durham from Massachusetts so we're still adjusting & looking to connect with others in the area. I'm a student at NCCU right now.
Wow. Cape Verde! Interesting. Even more interesting if others in the triangle come from there. I've never known anyone from that part of the world. You sent me scrambling to look it up.
Hi everyone! I'm a 34-year old SAHM to an almost 2-year old girl from China. We adopted her 1 year ago. Looking forward to meeting more folks through this forum!
My name is Jen and I am a 38 year old mom of 2. My oldest (baby girl) is 4 and the newest edition is our beautiful baby boy who is 3 weeks old. I will go back to work full-time in December. We live in Wake Forest and have been in this area for about 8 1/2 years.
Hi! I joined a while back but have forgotten to check in since. Anyway, my name is Christina. I'm married with one daughter named Natalie. She just turned 10 months. My ethnic background is Filipino, and Natalie is half-Filipino. I hope to find others on here with similar background, if there are any. We just moved to Durham from Raleigh a couple of weeks ago and love it here. Hubby and I are originally from Virginia Beach and have lived all over the Triangle since moving down 5 years ago. I work full time for a community mental health agency in the area. Hope to find more playdates for Natalie :) .
Thanks for introducing yourself! I know Valarie, who we featured a while ago is Filipino on her mom's side - http://www.trianglemom2mom.com/content/meet-valarie
Hi. I'm Stephanie, mama of Miles, who is about to be 10 months old and is full of energy. We would love to meet some new friends to play with. (Well, I would like new folks to talk to, and Miles would like new pals to squeal at and try to grab.) We moved back to Raleigh last spring after living in Virginia for a few years and are glad to be home.
Hi, I'm Denise. I have 2 wonderful boys, age 7 and 9. We moved to Apex about 6 1/2 years ago from Long Island, NY and absolutely love it. I work full-time in N. Raleigh and my husband has opened his own business (Jump!Zone in Holly Springs). So when I'm not with the kids or at my job in N. Raleigh, I'm helping him! It is tiring, but at the same time, I enjoy it.
My name is Francis, I have two children, 4 yr old girl and 6 year old boy. They are the loves of my life, and after a bitter divorce...I am a newly single mom with a different outlook on life and love. I'm here to make new friends and get all the support I can get on my journey of raising my young children.
Hi! I'm Melaney and I am a 26 year old SAHM or two. My daughter Kennedy just turned two on 12/26 and my son, Pheonix is 10 months. I am also a WAHM and I love what I do. I used to work as a nurse in a very busy dermatology office and I loved what I did, but when I lost my sitter, I couldn't find anyone I trusted enough with the lives of my children so Idecided to stay at home. It has been the best decision I could ever make for my family! I live in Ohio and am married to the love of my life Brad. I couldn't be happier. I am looking to find other moms to chat with and I intend on starting a weight loss blog in about a month or two. I'm not going to start dieting until Pheonix is done nursing and I am thinking that I want to start weening him when he turns one, but we'll see. I would also love to connect with other moms who are WAHM so we maybe exchange ideas.
Hi, I am a SAHM/WAHM in Holly Springs. I have a 9 year old and enjoy every minute I get to spend with him. I am glad to see a site where we can share ideas and info. If you live in the Holly Springs area check out my site: www.InsideHollySprings.com

I'm a new SAHM with a 6-month old boy. We just moved to the Knightdale area and love to walk and explore our new city. I'm enjoying getting to know our little one as he develops a personality all his own.
Hi everyone! I am from Puerto Rico I recently moved to Knightdale with my husband and my 2.5 year old son. I am 25 years old and recently graduate from College. I still struggle with the decision of being a stay-at-home-mom, i love being with my son at home but a missed my little piece of independence. I am looking foward to new some SAHM to share experiences and to my kid to know some lil' friends...
Hi everyone! I'm a newbie here and so excited to join you! I have a 3(1/2) year old little boy and 9 month old little girl, and am lucky enough to get to stay home with them. Every day is an adventure, to say the least!
Hi, my name is Dawn I am 40 years old with a 3 year old daughter. I am soon to be divorced. This site is great to read other peoples stories on how to survive as a older single parent. the father is not helping much with support finance or other and it is hard to struggle with the day to day demands of work and family. I am up to any suggestions anyone may have. My daughter is very bright and is going through the stage of not listening. she does very well in her daycare but she knows exactly how to get over on mom, which makes my job much more harder.
Hi there! I'm a SAHM. We're somewhat new in the triangle area. We moved here in nov. of 08 and currently live in Raleigh. We have a very outgoing little man who's 4 and about to have a new bundle of joy in June.
Hello Everyone. I am a mother of 2 boys. One is 20 months and the other one is still debating on when to come out of my belly...lol. I enjoy my job as a stay at home mom. I love to do things with my 20 month old son as I see this website have alot of ideas on where to go, what to do. I have been living in Durham for a year now and have been having a hard time trying to find stuff for him to get into. I am from New Jersey where there is ALWAYS something to do... Hopefully I can contribute something to the website for other mothers and take from the website.

Hi - I'm a 33 y.o. mom and wife of two little ones - a 3 y.o. and an 11 month old. I'm a SAHM but trying to get back into the workplace again (financial reasons) and the Triangle job market is KILLING me! I've never looked this long and hard for a job in my field - - EVER. It got me so down too because I always thought that with my masters degree and experience I'd never have a problem going back to work again when I was ready. But, yes, didn't plan for the national economic crisis we're in :) Anyway, being home with my kids is the most rewarding but it's also the hardest job I've had (and I've been working since I was 14!). We're from NJ/NY and have been here for 4 years. We enjoy the Triangle a lot.
Hello! I'm Cady and I'm a 32 year old SAHM of three. Chloe is 9, Jake is almost 8 and Tirzah is 6. I homeschool my kids and I'm involved in the Garner Classical Conversations during the school year. I run my own business teaching art classes, painting murals and selling custom art and portraits. We're in the South Raleigh/Garner area and I'd love to meet some other moms in the area with kids that are my kid's ages.
We're from CT, but we've been here for 4 years now and love it here! This is a great site for meeting people and getting support.
Hello everyone!! My name is Tonya, I am 26, just got married in April and expecting my first child in January! (honeymoon surprise!) New to the whole wife/mommy scene, very excited, but overwhelmed and nervous at the same time. I have tons of questions and worries! Looking to meet other local mom/mom to be's who have advice and friendship to offer!
Hey all,
i used to be SAHM, but in the past year became WAHM and wow - can you say overwhelmed. Kids, house, dinners, activities, traveling husband, and now business and clients on the top of it all. Some days it's just so hard... But then I think how lucky I am to be in love with my job...
Hopefully other working moms will chip in with suggestions and ideas.
Thanks,
Lina

hi everyone! my name is joanna gamble and i'm a new mom and new to this site. my little girl, annalyn jane, was born this past march. my husband and i have been married for almost three years and are loving the mommy and daddy roles. i'm a stay at home mom and he's a full time student. i'm not quite in the triangle area, i'm close to charlotte, but it's nice being connected to people who aren't so far away since neither of us really have family nearby.
Hi All you great Moms & Moms-to-be....
I'm a 43 yr old "first time mommy" and I have been married since 1995. If you read my blog, you will see that not all husbands are cnsiderate or patient when you are having problems trying to get pregnant.
In the Latino culture, if you do not have a child, that means that you have been cursed. I tried for many yrs and finally just last month after yrs of trying and much division in my marraige, God blessed me with a baby. I'm now 15 weeks, today! Just remember: that little seed you carry within you is a Big Blessing!
Hi my name is Dani. I am the mother of 2 awesome kids. An 8 year old and 17 month old. I am currently in Florida but looking to relocate to NC within the next few months. I look forward to reading the posts on this site and hopefully get a better idea of what to expect whe we get there.

Welcome to the site!
Welcome to the site and the area! Love the name Isis. My good friend growing up had that same name. We always joked around and called her Is Is.
Wow.

Welcome to the site!
Hi Everyone!,
My name is Francis, I have two children, 4 yr old girl and 6 year old boy. They are the loves of my life, and after a bitter divorce...I am a newly single mom with a different outlook on life and love. I'm here to make new friends and get all the support I can get on my journey of raising my young children.
Welcome to the site!

-Mom of 2 A's
Welcome to the site! Congratulations on the impending birth! I've got 12 more weeks to go.
Sarah
How frustrating on the job search! Best of luck.
Welcome to the site!

Check out my work at www.cadydidrooms.com!

Hey Melinda....I just read "In Praise of Stay at Home Moms" by Dr. Laura Schlessinger. It's a great read and it'll encourage you.

Hey all,
i used to be SAHM, but in the past year became WAHM and wow - can you say overwhelmed. Kids, house, dinners, activities, traveling husband, and now business and clients on the top of it all. Some days it's just so hard... But then I think how lucky I am to be in love with my job...
Hopefully other working moms will chip in with suggestions and ideas.
Thanks,
Lina

Hi, I am currently a SAHM but am looking for a part time job to help bring in a bit more money, I am very new to the area. I have a 3 month old son, he is the light of my life.
hi everyone! my name is joanna gamble and i'm a new mom and new to this site. my little girl, annalyn jane, was born this past march. my husband and i have been married for almost three years and are loving the mommy and daddy roles. i'm a stay at home mom and he's a full time student. i'm not quite in the triangle area, i'm close to charlotte, but it's nice being connected to people who aren't so far away since neither of us really have family nearby.
