Jam Fest!

Sk8-Cary at Gobold Park has a couple of events this weekend for skateboarders and BMXers. Spectators are free at both. Skaters and bikers can register the day of the event, but there's a late fee.

The Spring Skate Contest is from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday.  Beginners, intermediates and experts compete at separate levels. On Sunday, the Spring BMX Contest takes over the park. From noon to 8 p.m., beginners, intermediates and experts compete.

At both, "Best Trick is one big Jam Fest!" says the Web site.

OK, now I feel old. I have no idea what that means.
