July 4 in the Triangle

There are more than two dozen events across the Triangle to celebrate Independence Day this weekend, from the giant fireworks display at the N.C. State Fairgrounds, Cary's Booth Amphitheatre and the Durham Bulls Athletic Park to small town celebrations with watermelon seed spitting contests and children's parades.

They crank up Friday with events in Fuquay-Varina, Garner and Wake Forest and continue through Sunday.

For a full schedule, click here for the list on the Mom2Mom calendar.

Happy July 4th!
