Kids Together Playground
I'm constantly amazed by the number of people with kids who I meet and have never heard about Kids Together Playground in Cary.
It's a great playground with a giant sand pit, a fun climbing gym and a big dragon to climb all over. There are swings and slides and special features for kids with disabilities. The landscaping is fantastic and makes the park pretty shady in the summer.
It was inspired more than 15 years ago by two young girls whose sisters had disabilities. The community and the town of Cary came together to build it. The playground opened in 2000. My daughter has spent hours and hours playing here.
Couple things are going on at the park. The nonprofit which works to build awareness and funds for the park recently launched a new, very detailed Web site with a full history of the park, a list of events this year and more. It's at www.kidstogethercary.org.
And the Second Annual Kids Together Walk was scheduled for April 18. Click here for all the details.
