It was so horrible to hear about the little boy who was "lost" in Smithfield this week. And so nice to see so many people come out to help find him.

And now we've learned that he actually was never lost at all.

Sounds like there's an unusual back story here about the family, but it's a shame that the goodwill of so many people was taken advantage of. I hope that little boy is OK whereever he is.

I would be very upset if my child had been friends with him and had been distraught by the news of his disappearance.
