Lunch Money's Dizzy
It's been a while since I've reviewed kids music. All kinds of excuses ... but among them is I haven't
really heard much that I wanted to hear more than once.
But now we have Lunch Money's newest release: Dizzy.
The indie-pop kids group out of South Carolina has come out with their second CD. Like their first, it's filled with lyrics kids can identify with and a sound that's not going to totally annoy their parents after ten dozen listens.
You might have heard of them. The band was in the Triangle a year ago, rocking Durham's Broad Street Cafe with Baron Von Rumblebuss. It was a packed house. And some of their songs from their first CD, "Silly Reflection," are in regular rotation at Marbles Kids Museum.
Dizzy is a collection of adorable songs. Singer (and songwriter) Molly Ledford sounds like she's pretty much having the time of her life on every track.
There are lots of standouts here, but my favorites include the sweet ode to libraries "I Love My Library," (which includes a shout-out to one of my favorite kids books "Caps for Sale"). And there's the sweet song "Wake Up World" about missing spring.
But kids will probably love "A Cookie As Big As My Head." I mean ... who doesn't want a cookie that big?
Check out Dizzy and Lunch Money by clicking here. I definitely recommend it. And hopefully they'll be back in these parts before too long.
