Mall Brawl

The biggest mall brawl I've seen was at one of those indoor play areas when a couple of brothers started squabbling over who got to jump on the turtle first.

Apparently the fight at Triangle Town Center in Raleigh on Saturday night was much different - 200 to 300 people involved. Some have been arrested. Police say there are gang connections. Here's an update Tuesday.

At North Hills, kids who aren't high school age must be with a parent or guardian over age 21 after 9 p.m. Northgate Mall in Durham, which has had its share of problems, also has a curfew for kids under age 16 - they must have a parent or legal guardian Monday through Saturday starting at 6 p.m. (except for the movie theater lobby).

Neither would have prevented the brawl at Triangle Town Center, but they certainly might have meant fewer kids were on their own that night.

How late do you let your teens stay out at the mall? And are you having second thoughts about a trip to Triangle Town Center?
