Christine McCann is our TriangleMom2Mom mom of the week. She's working to help organize a festival celebrating breastfeeding that's scheduled in Cary this Saturday. It's open to the public.

Here's Christine ..

Mom2Mom: Tell us about yourself.

Christine: My name is Christine McCann.  My husband is Chris, and we have two daughters: Chloe (6) and Claire (18 mos).  I've been involved with La Leche League for over five years, and this year I am helping to plan our World Breastfeeding Week Celebration fundraiser, the Triangle Family Festival, on Aug.15.

The festival will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and is free and open to all.  The Web site is www.trianglefamilyfestival.org.   La Leche League is a non-profit, volunteer organization providing breastfeeding information and support in a mother-to-mother format.  The festival will raise money to help breastfeeding mothers throughout Wake County.

Mom2Mom: What's your favorite family place in the Triangle?

Christine: Lazy Daze playground in Bond Park is great - both kids can play, it's nice and shady, and it's easy to keep an eye on them.

Mom2Mom: What's your favorite place for yourself in the Triangle?

Christine: The Cary Family YMCA.  It's where I go to recharge with some exercise and time alone.

Mom2Mom: What's your favorite ritual with your kids?

Christine: I love bedtime - we read, talk about our day and what we're planning for, and have some snuggle time.

Mom2Mom: What did you eat for dinner last night? Can you share the recipe?

Christine: Oven-baked chicken parmesan and pasta with red sauce.  No real recipe, I just breaded the chicken, sprayed on some nonstick spray, and baked it.  And the sauce was Newman's Own, since we had to run out the door to Open House at Chloe's school - no time for fancy stuff!

Mom2Mom: What's your guilty pleasure?

Christine: When I feel stressed or blue, I'll give myself permission to neglect chores and use the baby's naptime to do something fun like reading or playing a game.
