Karyn Barefoot is this week's TriangleMom2Mom of the week. If you're an avid reader of this blog (Hi Mom and Dad!), you might recognize Karyn from my earlier post about Mothers Unlimited. She's one of the group's leaders.

Here's Karyn.

Mom2Mom: Tell us about yourself.

Karyn: I am a stay-at-home mom with two kids and have been married to my best friend for seven years. My oldest child is about to enter kindergarten. She is an amazing little girl who constantly surprises me and keeps me on my toes. I just hope I can keep up with her now that she will be "out in the real world." My youngest has just turned three and is the epitome of "all boy," which makes it that much sweeter when he calmly looks me in the eye and requests something from his sweetheart! I also take care of my soon-to-be one-year-old niece four days a week. She is an amazing little girl who does everything she can to keep up with her older cousins, including walking at eight months!!!

In order to keep all of us happy and entertained, we go to lots of playgroups and events through our support system, Mothers Unlimited. I am the president of our Clayton West and Cleveland chapter. I know that I couldn't have made it without the support of the friends I have made through this amazing group. Mothers Unlimited has led me to my most recent project, Sneakers to Stilettos. This is a referral guide made specifically for women. In Mothers Unlimited, we have lots of families who are new to the area and need direction in where to go for things from hair dressers to pediatricians. That is why Sneakers to Stilettos has come to be. We are putting all that info into a handy book that includes a calendar -- you know to keep up with all the playgroups!

So, my life is pretty busy, but I couldn't imagine it any other way!!

Mom2Mom: What's your favorite family place in the Triangle?

Karyn: Any of the parks! We enjoy packing a lunch or dinner and just playing and spending time together. We especially enjoy Clayton Community Park.

Mom2Mom: What's your favorite place for yourself in the Triangle?

Karyn: Anywhere I can get a pedicure ... my favorite is Tips 2 Toes in Brier Creek.

Mom2Mom: What's your favorite ritual with your kids?

Karyn: Going out for ice cream!!! I know it doesn't sound like much of a ritual, but sometimes, after an early dinner, we will go get dessert, then sit in the living room watching TV until Dad and the kids fall asleep!

Mom2Mom: What did you eat for dinner last night? Can you share the recipe?

Karyn: Pork chops on the grill. I love any meal that my husband prepares! Plus green beans and baked beans. Easy basic meal, and one that the kids will eat!

Mom2Mom: What's your guilty pleasure?

Karyn: Back when I took the extra time, it was watching General Hospital. I bet I haven't seen it in two months though! Can someone fill me in??
