LouAnne Hicks is our TriangleMom2Mom mom of the week. She's will be busy this weekend helping to organize the first consignment sale for Greenwood Forest Baptist Church in Cary.

Here's LouAnne ...

Mom2Mom: Tell us about yourself.

LouAnne: I am orginally from Milledgeville,Georgia. My husband and I have been married for almost 15 years. We have three children, ages 6, 4, and 19 months. I attended Georgia College and received my B.A. degree in music therapy. I worked for six years and then decided to become a stay-at-home mom after the birth of my oldest daughter. We have lived in Cary for 4 1/2 years. After moving to Cary we became members of Greenwood Forest Baptist Church. I serve as nursery coordinator and Mission Friends leader. My daugher also attends preschool at the Greenwood Forest Childrens Center. The church and preschool are busy planning our first consignment sale. The Second Blessings sale will take place May 8 and May 9 in our church fellowship hall. We will have great deals on gently used clothing (all seasons), toys, furniture, baby gear, sports equipment and maternity , and more . Mom2Mom: What's your favorite family place in the Triangle?

LouAnne: We enjoy going to MacDonald Woods Park and Kids Together Park in Cary. Our family likes to play at one park and then take a walk across the pedestrian bridge to the other park. During the summer we enjoy the spraygrounds in Raleigh.

Mom2Mom: What's your favorite place for yourself in the Triangle?

LouAnne: The State Farmers Market in Raleigh.

Mom2Mom: What's your favorite ritual with your kids?

LouAnne: We enjoy having a game night or a movie night most weekends. We pop popcorn on the stove and spend the evening having fun.

Mom2Mom: What did you eat for dinner last night? Can you share the recipe?

LouAnne: I cooked a Zucchnni Beef Skillet from my Saving Dinner menu mailer. I enjoy the menu mailer because I get recipes for each night of the week. I can't publish the recipe due to copyright laws.
My girls and I also made a strawberry pie from the strawberries we hand picked from Jean's Berry Patch in Apex. We make this pie every year. The recipe is on allrecipes.com.

Mom2Mom: What's your guilty pleasure?

LouAnne: The blonde brownies from a bakery in my hometown. My parents bring me a small box of these each time they visit.
