Meet Shannon!

Shannon Montague is a TriangleMom2Mom mom of the week. I learned about Shannon through Kelly Rives, the very, very nice mom who runs The Divine Consign Show in Raleigh. The consignment sale, which focuses on new and used upscale children's clothing used - starts up Feb. 2. There's still time to consign and volunteer. And check out their early shopping for grandparents and new moms. Here's their Web site for details.

Here's Shannon ...

Mom2Mom
: Tell us about yourself.

Shannon: I am a mother of three - two girls- 5-years-old and 3-years-old, and one boy who is 4 months. I am a stay at home mom and volunteer for the Divine Consign Show. I volunteer at my childrens schools, am a member at Edenton Street United Methodist Church, and I love to run. I am actually training for the Raleigh Rocks half marathon in March.

Mom2Mom: What's your favorite family place in the Triangle?

Shannon: Our favorite places in Raleigh to go as a family are the parks and museums. There are many awesome parks in Raleigh that we all love to go to picnic and play, as well as the N.C. Museum of Natural Sciences and Marbles on days when it best to be inside.

Mom2Mom:
What's your favorite place for yourself in the Triangle?

Shannon:
My favorite place for myself is Natural Body Spa at North Hills- I don't get to go that often, but when I do it is very relaxing and quiet- which is a big change from my everyday life!

Mom2Mom: What's your favorite ritual with your kids?

Shannon: My favorite ritual with my kids is our nighttime ritual. Listening to my older daughter learn to read to me, reading stories to all the kids, and listening to each one of the girls tell their high and low of the day.

Mom2Mom: What did you eat for dinner last night?

Shannon: Last night for dinner we had Pesto, Ham and Cheese Chicken. I made it up, it is very easy and delicious. I use thin sliced chicken breasts, spread pesto on top, up a piece of ham and some shredded cheddar on top, roll it up and cook it in a frying pan. For the kids I leave out the Pesto and they eat it up! We had it with brocolli and rice.

Mom2Mom: What's your guilty pleasure?

Shannon: My quilty pleasure is a cupcake from the Cupcake Shoppe on Glenwood Avenue. If you haven't tried one you are missing out.

If you know a mom we should feature, e-mail me.
