my 2yr old still wont eat solid foods!!!!! Anyone else?
My 2yr old daughter has struggled with eating as long as I can remember. Even as an infant she didn't drink as much volume as my friends babies. She has not been able to tolerate solid foods (except for nutrigrain bars and 1 flavor of pop tart) and has no interest in anything that we are eating. She strongly resists anything introduced to her. I take her to a dysphagia clinic 2X a month, but I just wanted to know if there is anyone out there who can understand what we are going through. She is underweight and I worry about her. Pediatrician is involved and informed. Also, all other areas of development are normal.
Thanks

Don't know if this will help - you've probably tried everything. My friend had trouble with her son eating foods. He didn't have a swallowing problem I don't think. I think he just didn't like the textures of a lot of things and he definitely liked choice and being in control. So her pediatrician recommended just laying out a ton of options on his plate for him to pick from. It took a while - but he eventually came around. He's still picky, but he's eating a lot more.
Sounds like you're doing all the right things and it's good to know the pediatrician is happy. But I can completely understand that hearing an upbeat report from the pediatrician never is enough. I can definitely commiserate with you on the worrying.
