My first cloth diaper order!!!!

I just placed my first order for cloth diapers. I AM SOOOO excited! I currently have a 1.5 year old son we are going to switch over and then plan on using only cloth(except in hospital) on our son due July 11th!!! I can't wait to get all this in the mail. Just to brag a little I ordered 18 chinese prefolds, 4 diaper covers(one size), 6 pocket diapers(one size), and 2 snappis!!! I can't wait. Okay, I just had to share my excitement since I have been asking soooo many questions reference cloth here lately! Thanks to everyone for your help! I will let you know how it goes when everything gets here.

Congratulations! :) i understand your excitement! We are a strictly cloth family here. I made a $300 investment with my first daughter and they are still going strong with daughter #2. I'm sure they will be fine for baby #3 and maybe baby #4?!! ;P
We use prefolds, bummis and snappis primarily. Enjoy your cloth!!

Hello! So maybe I'm just a little slow, :), but I can't quite get the hang of my cloth diapers...maybe you guys can help? For instance, what do you use for a diaper pail? And since infant poop isn't exactly solid, how do you get it into the toilet, and then what's the best way to wash the soiled diapers? I'm using BumGenius. Wow! 4 babies! I'm still adjusting to one!

Hi
We initially used a paint pail (in the bathroom next to babies room) to put dirty diapers (and stained clothing into(will scratch tub if you put in there so be careful), now we have a wider plastic tub, then I just carry the whole thing into the laundry room, water and add clorax or borax (if going organic/natural) to soak them in. turn inside out before putting in pail and do up velcro - that way you can just transfer directly to washing machine.
I use the 'paper' sheets (like a giant sheet of toilet paper - Kushies make them, buy on a roll) inside the diapers they catch the majority of the poop and go in the toilet, then just use a bit of toilet paper to wipe off majority of what is left behind then soaking helps with the rest.
