My Rant: Too Good To Be True

That would be Time Warner Cable's Digital Phone Service. I was warned, but the lure of a low price was too good to pass up.

Let's just say that any dollars saved have been spent by me using my cell phone minutes waiting on hold to try and get answers to the problems I am having. Did I mention that the technician left my house at 10:45 (of course, arriving 5 minutes before the 2 hour allocated window was about to expire...nice, smart guy, but I'm still frustrated!!) and now my phone service is dead again? How can that be?

Ever since getting the phone service, my high speed internet/motem/contraption (the technical stuff) has been malfunctioning. Calls are randomly disconnected. And once this happens, there is no service for an hour at a time. Additionally, all internet access goes down.

Now, let me say something nice....this is important....I will give the service personnel at TWC credit. They could not be any nicer and more pleasant. And since my hold time has never been less than 10 minutes, I can imagine they deal with plenty of frustrated customers. Their friendly and understanding manner reminded me that it's not their fault as I complain. And complain.

Maybe my experience is some sort of fluke. I've been a satistied TWC customer with cable and DSL. And I'm sticking with it. Maybe the phone service thru my little wires into a crazy spin. But I'm going back home to my good, old, stand-by, land line provider.

I just have to use my cell phone to call them.

Now I feel better.

We were thinking about switching - maybe not now. How frustrating.

We have the digital phone service and I'm not impressed. I've been too lazy to change it back, but there are definitely a number of kinks I think they need to work out!

I've had the digital phone/internet/cable bundle for over three years now and have never had a problem. It doesn't sound like they installed it correctly.

Hopefully they'll get it fixed soon! What a pain.
