Insurance codes are now available for women using postpartum doula support.  Not all insurance companies will cover the cost of a postpartum doula but at least now women can file with their insurance companies for reimbursement. It's a wonder it took so long considering how much having certified postpartum support saves insurance companies. Women who use a ppd have a higher chance of breastfeeding success and continue breastfeeding longer, and they have lower incidence of postpartum depression.
