New Rules At Triangle Town Center
Triangle Town Center announced today that starting Oct. 3 kids under 18 must be accompanied by a parent, guardian, grandparent, aunt or uncle after 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturdays.
It comes after that gang-related brawl in July. Here's the story.
What do you think? Will it make a difference?

I'm so glad to hear this! I may just go to the mall Saturday night & check it out. TTC is a great mall. The overwhelming presence of bored teenagers was very discouraging over the summer. Then the news of the 'gang' fight cast a shadow, not only on the mall, but all of the neighborhoods around the mall. TTC has made a good decision. The parents of teenagers who have nothing to do but wander the mall during the summer or weekends need to teach their teens a hobby, how to find a real job, or at least some chores. I truly believe idleness is the leading cause of the high school drop out rate increase. Get those kids busy!!
This new rule at Triangle Town Center is not only going to be difficult to enforce, it will hurt the mall's business. But that is not the real issue. The problem is there is not very many things that teens can do around this area to keep them entertained. I have a 13 yr. old daughter and the range of activities consists of skating at Jellybeans, hanging out at The Factory, going to the movies (at $9 per ticket!!!!) and going to the mall. I do not drop my kid off at the mall or the movies. But I know a lot of parents that do. I don't feel it is a safe thing to do, especially since the riot happened. Unfortunately, TTC, is a hang-out place and instead of denying the kids that, TTC should acknowledge it and embrace it and try to make it as safe as possible. Security is an issue and a worthwhile investment for the property. TTC should step up their security and make the guards more prominent and visable on those troublesome nights. Guards interacting with the kids would let them know they are being monitored. It doesn't have to be a negative thing. Kids are used to having the authorities present daily in their schools now. They are reassured by their presence. Same goes here.
