I am not a homebody and just two days back from vacation, I am eagerly planning the next opportunity to get out of town.

So we're thinking about heading up to New York City for several days in early November. I've been there many many times without a child and know of some of the obvious places to take a kid - the zoo, central park, natural history museum, etc. I'd love some ideas for off-the-beaten track places to take my daughter. She especially loves concerts and performances of any type. Also would love some kid-friendly restaurant recommendations.

Can anyone help?
