For our mothers and sisters

Nearly all of us have been touched in some way by breast cancer. A mother, a sister, a scare of our own.

One way to take charge against breast cancer is to participate in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.

As a Triangle mom, please join us on The N&O Race for the Cure team.

The race is June 14, beginning at 7 a.m. for competitive runners, and followed up by a recreational 5k run/walk, a one-mile fun run/walk, and Little Road Runner's Race for ages 3-5 later in the morning. If you're not a runner of any type, you can even "sleep in" for the cure!

The funds raised go to support breast cancer awareness and the search for a cure.

If you haven't experienced the Race for the Cure, you will be amazed by the commitment of race volunteers and the enthusiasm of the participants and the neighborhoods surrounding the course. It's an event steeped in love and courage.

You can help TriangleMom2Mom.com support the race for the cure by joining our supporting our team here! There you will see a list of our team members and a link to join. Join by May 27 and get a great Mom2Mom tote bag!

* On Monday, as part of our weekly Meet! feature, we'll profile local moms who are breast cancer survivors on May 26, June 2 and June 9.
