Out!
You'll hear a lot about it over the next week or so, but thought I'd plug it here anyway.
Help us celebrate the official launch of TriangleMom2Mom.com from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., May 10, at Marbles Kids Museum. Admission is $5 per person. We'll have all the fun of Marbles plus live performances from Cotton the Clown, Trish Miller and the Sandbox Band, deals on family memberships to Marbles and some giveaways.
Now, for this weekend.
If it rains like the forecasters predict, then the Justin Roberts concert at The ArtsCenter in Carrboro is well-timed.
Roberts, whose videos are in rotation on Noggin, will make his seventh or eighth appearance at The ArtsCenter in Carrboro on Saturday. His catchy pop tunes have really sweet lyrics and lovely melodies. I have a quick interview with him in my Family Outing column in The N&O's What's Up section.
Roberts plays The ArtsCenter at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., Saturday. His concerts have sold out there before so go here if you want to buy tickets.
Early birds can go Birding with Vernon at Lake Crabtree County Park in Morrisville. He'll take you and your kids on an easy walk to look for birds at 8:30 a.m., Saturday.
Little city planners, ages 10 and under, should check out Kids City Planning Day - Raleigh 2030 at Marbles Kids Museum in downtown Raleigh. The event from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, aims to introduce kids to city planning. They'll boxes, construction paper, markers and other supplies to create their ideal city.
Millbrook Exchange Tennis Center in North Raleigh will hold a tennis block party from noon to 3 p.m., Saturday, with free tennis activities, demonstrations, prizes and refreshments. Might be a great way to introduce your kids to tennis.
On Sunday, Carrboro has its big Carrboro Day from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. on the Town Hall Grounds at 301 W. Main St., in Carrboro. There's lots of music, displays, crafts, games and other family-friendly events.
