Pirate's Gold Chocolate From Costco

There's a candy scare related to chocolate coins sold at Costco - just in time for Halloween.

Canadian officials found that some of the Sherwood Brands' Pirate's Gold candies contained melamine, the chemical in baby formula that has made so many babies sick in China. Four have died.

Sherwood Brands says that these candies were not shipped into the U.S. market. More tests are being done

I'm a frequent Costco shopper and haven't seen these there before - though I'm not lingering very long in the candy aisle. Still scary.

Just found this link to FDA with information about melamine-contaminated products in the U.S.: http://www.fda.gov/oc/opacom/hottopics/melamine.html

gee it's frightening isn't it! To think that we're not very safe from anything are we! The thought that you could've just picked those up shopping like anything else and then fed them to the kids is a scary one!
