Rad Raggs Giveaway

THIS CONTEST IS CLOSED. CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR WINNERS.

After the Wild Wiggles Giveaway, I can't let go of the alliteration.

The Raggs Kids Club Band, the adorable pack of colorful canines who play in a band and are seen across the country on public television including UNC-TV, are coming to the Carolina Theatre in Durham on Sept. 13. TriangleMom2Mom has tickets!

We're giving away two family four packs of tickets - one four pack for the 2 p.m. show and one for the 6 p.m. show. These are $25 tickets and you'll be sitting in the first three rows for this 90-minute dance party featuring some of of the show's most popular songs — "What's the Dealio?" and "Stand Back, Brain Attack," which actually always makes me crack up whenever I hear it.

So what do you need to do to win these fantastic prizes?

1. Make sure you're registered on Mom2Mom. Just click "Join Us" at the top of the page. It's FREE and easy.

2. Answer the following question by Sept. 7 by posting a comment to this forum. We'll pick the winner on Sept. 8. (See below for official contest rules).

The question: Raggs is all about being healthy and active. So where in the Triangle is your favorite place to get moving? A park? Your backyard? The pool?

I like to walk, in the mornings, at Crabtree Mall, before the store's open. It is peaceful and a fun place to meet-up with friends. But even better, when I want "active/talkative" company, is double-stroller walking with my 2 grandsons. We walk at Crabtree Mall and then they run & play in the indoor playground. We all get our exercise! Raggs is a great show for the whole family. They were at the NC Fair last fall.

We love Wheels in Durham. On a rainy or too hot day, it's great to take the kids there to burn off some energy. When we don't need to run around as much we head to the Family Center of Northern Durham for some indoor/ outdoor play on a Friday morning.

We saw Raggs just before Christmas last year. My kids loved it and still talk about it. In fact, last week they insisted on listening to the Christmas CD in the car!

We love to walk on the neighborhood golf cart paths! Every evening after dinner, and of course after the golfers are done playing for the day, we take our bikes and trikes and ride up and down the hills! It's the only kind of street we don't have to worry about cars going back and forth. The best part of the path for the kids is right at the tee area. There's a cooler full of cold water and the little cone cups. It makes the little ones feel like that water was put there just for them! It's a great way to get that energy out before bed time! We have never seen Raggs before, but the kids LOVE music and dancing! The concert would be a GREAT experience for the whole family! Good luck to everyone! :)

We love Nature Trails, going to Shelly Lake to walk or bike, and of course working out at the YMCA. My kids LOVE to swim and my kids also take Gymnastics. We encourage healthful eating and limit their sugar intake. We think it's super important to exercise as a family so that we set a positive example for our kids.

Sept. 8th is my youngest child's birthday! He will be 3 and would LOVE to go to this show! Enter me please.

*Indoor: Monkey Joe's, Cary. My 1 yr. old can move in his walker, and 1 play area and 1 inflatable area for his age. My 3 yr. old can run and jump and slide all over the place. It's very safe = each family gets matching armbands they check at the exit.
*Outdoor: All Children's Playground at Laurel Hills, Raleigh. Again, my 1 yr. old has room to use his walker and swings and slides his age. My 3 yr. old can use the entire playground. There are shaded picnic tables and indoor bathrooms.
Access for wheel-chaired kids, like Raggs' buddy, B.Max!
Great places for families with different ages of kids!

My favorite place is where I work at a large retirement community. It's a beautiful campus and a great place to get exercise walking. My son goes to the onsite childcare center and enjoys going on nature walks with his class. I love that even though our home is in a new neighborhood with very little nature that at work and "school" we still get to enjoy nature.

My kids are very active and like to "get movin' wherever they can! We love to go to the Rolesville park. It is such a clean park that has equipment for all of my kids' ages and abilities. We especially love to stroll along the path and try our hand at the stations on the fitness trail. We also enjoy getting out in our yard and striking up an impromptu baseball game or a rodeo... my 4 year old is obsessed with bull riding and anything cowboys!

We love Lake Benson Park in Garner! They have walking trails through the wilderness close to the lake. They have picnic shelters for lazy lunches and several age appropriate kids play areas. We love it! You can easily spend the entire day!

My kids love to go to the Calvin Jones House (Wake Forest College Birthplace) on North Main Street in Wake Forest. They run around in the open space, and play around the small water fountain in the flower garden. It has the perfect mix of sun and shade, and lots of places to explore!

I enjoy doing cycling, toning and aerobics classes at the YMCA on Hillsborough Street! My daughter and I enjoy walking around the neighborhood and on the greenway. We also enjoy going to the Ridge Rd. pool for a swim and swim class through Parks and Rec. My daughter and I would love tickets to go to Raggs!

In this day and age with high gas prices, I love to stay locally. I love Lake Benson Park in Garner. The kids have an open space to fly their kites. They is are three playgrounds and several picnic shelters. There is a very nice nature trail that goes down by the lake. The children also get a lesson because the trees are labeled. Fun and free my favorite combination.

One of our favorite places is the pool in our subdivision --Now that swim team is over for the year, the kids/grandkids still like to make a day of it. It is amazing how they can stay in water over their heads and just keep going for hours at a time. Fortunatly, the life guards require a 10 minute break once every hour when the kid must get out to rest. There is definitly no problem with bed time on the days that we go to the pool.

I love to take my 9 year old daughter and my 2 year old grandson to Pullen Park! We just went today and rode the train, the boats, and the carousel. They have a playground for toddlers and one for older kids. We buy popcorn and feed the ducks and geese. We also walk around the lake and stop to admire the statue of Andy Griffith and Opie! There is also an indoor swimming pool to cool off in when you get hot and tired at the park. I would highly recommend Pullen Park to anyone who is looking for a good day out!

Lake Benson is the best. A great trail that is out in the open with large fields. We take the bikes or soccer ball or both. We love being outside and this is a great place to enjoy it!
