The Reality.. sit down Paula

Okay, a couple really lousy ones, a few degrading ones and then those that feature our fantastic NC talent; I am talking about reality television and it's gotten the best of me. Here are my top five in no order... okay from least to most vapid

American Idol - I am happy that Anoop is out there in the now top 12. He needs to get a little edgier(looks and songs) like the NandO suggests b/c he doesn't have Clay Aiken's voice to take him to the top. I don't think they needed a fourth judge and I wish that Paula would sit down and quit dancing to all the songs. It is driving me and Simon Cowell NUTS!

Hell's Kitchen- I can not get enough of Gordon Ramsey calling people donkeys, cows and other very funny explicatives and I actually have learned how to make a tasty risotto. :)

America's Next Top Model - I don't know why I like this show, but I do. I miss Janice Dickinson and Tyra seems to be loosing her eye for spotting talent so I don't know how much longer I can hang on. Was that one of the Top Models on the latest Belk magazine in the mail today?

Girls Next Door - Good Bye to Holly.. Secretly, I think she had her eyeballs and the nerves of her fingers removed so that she and her Puffin could do the deed. Thankfully she got out of there before her 30th... It's not too late to find a man and have a baby, Holly!! I am sure there is a man that can overlook that you had sex with an 82 year old man. GROSS! Kendra's a dingaling but funny and Bridgette is the sweetest and cutest of them all. Go Bridge!

Rock of Love- OMG, I am admitting that I watch this. Am I alone out there that I loved Brett Micheals and Every Rose Has Its Thorn? Am I? I am worried that he may be bald under that stupid hanky he wears on his head and I hate the black eyeliner, but the eyes are still there and he still sounds great. I wish he had chosen that big busted, tramp, Heather.. I think she was the best match for him and he threw it away. I think the challenges are funny and ridiculous and I guess I like to see people make donkeys of themselves on TV.

I admit, you got me with Hell's Kitchen and America's Next Top Model.  I love catching those shows.  I say catching, because very often all I see outside of smiling faces and my computer screen is Noggin, Disney, and CNN.  Oh!  If my husband is here I can't avoid ESPN.

Anyhow, Gordon Ramsey keeps the fire on under everyone and I love the fact that he challenges and stretches each and every one of them.  Errr... with the excetption of all the cussing and yelling... this show keeps me glued.

Tyra teaches so much as well.  Usually all I catch are the re-runs, but rather than pay to much attention to the models behaviors I like to take notes and pointers on what it is like in the modeling world.

Today's entertainment... fun!

Ok, I admit I have watched a few episodes of Rock of Love. I am just baffled by these young good looking girls fighting over an old overweight ex-rock star. While I did enjoy Every Rose Has Its Thorne, I also acknowledge that Poison was not that good of a group. I’m rooting for either Brittanya or Ashley. Brttanya because she has a nice figure and Ashley because she out witted the others by seeing Brett in private that night that he took on more girls. I think the whole thing is ridiculous but fun for some reason.

Ha, I enjoyed reading your post. Thanks for sharing.

I've been watching American Idol though my husband refuses to go anywhere near it so I have to hole up in my room to watch it. I usually catch Lisa de Moraes blog on washingtonpost.com after each show. It's very funny if you're not really caught up in the whole show and don't take it very seriously.

Here's a link to her post from last night. I'm glad to see Megan go: http://voices.washingtonpost.com/tvblog/2009/04/megan_flaps_her_wings_and_flie.html

I do like Hell's Kitchen too and that's one my husband can sit through.

I am still looking out for Hell's Kitchen to begin again. I am liking Top Chef and Chopped. I will miss Paula and it seems like Simon is going in a year. I don't know how Ellen DeGeneres will do, but she is sweet and funny so I imagone she'll be fine. I guess AI is out for me this season. I will tune into ANTM when I can. And, I have now locked into A&Es Intervention and Hoarders shows. There are some really messed up folks out there and trying to get them some help, and them accepting the help, is the gist of both of these shows. I am glued to how someone develops a hoarding complex such that these folks have displayed on television... I am flabbergasted by it- yet glued. I will take a pass on Rock of Love, the Bachelor, the Biggest Looser etc.
