Ritter Park
Ever Thursday, we here at TriangleMom2Mom have offered information about new ideas for playing with your kids. You can see past columns here.
Today, I'm starting a new feature: Local playground reviews. I hope to create a good list so you know
where to go when you're out and about and looking for something to do.
I'm starting with Harold D. Ritter Park in Cary.
I live in Raleigh, but we used to live over here and my husband's office is within walking distance. So weekdays, when I'm not in the office, we often head over here to play and then meet my husband for lunch at Whole Foods nearby. The park got a big upgrade last year.
What I love about this place is the rubberized surface; nice, clean sand in the sand pit; and the little saucer that spins kids around.
Next to the playground is a big ball field, great for kicking around a ball or some games of catch.
The park is open from sunrise to sunset and has bathrooms (though the one time I've been inside they've been a little stinky).
My only wish is there was more shade. And bring your own sand toys. There are a few in the pit, but they're not in great shape.
Do you have a favorite? Please share.

Hands down, I think Kids Together Park might be the most popular park in Cary. But for shade, I prefer Sears Farm Park.
We need to come up with a best of list for shady parks in the Triangle of course not shady as in dodgy ... you know what I mean.
