The Sky has Opened and All Heaven is Singing...

HALLELUJAH!

My almost 5 yr daughter (K) picked out clothes and dressed herself in a MATCHING OUTFIT. Is this possible? Well, technically, no. White shirt with red polka dots around the neck. Matching polka dot pants. Orange, Clemson Crocs. Okay...Close enough. I'll add a picture out here as soon as I can get to my home pc. Punky Brewster's protege lives in my house. You'll see that she's come a long way, baby.

I am making a big deal about matching only because she's months away from elementary school and it might be time for her to start learning how to match. I don't want the other kids to make fun of her. In the past, I really haven't given one, big hoot about whether she matched. Sister has all kinds of spirit and I always wanted her to feel proud of herself for putting together colorful outfits thinking the important skills were dressing herself, choosing clothes and being proud of the whole activity.

K has really grown a lot lately. It makes me a little sad. She LOVES princess dresses and playing dress-up. I'm a little concerned that her 20 princess dresses aren't going to fit her much longer. Though they are mostly ragged out (she's rough on her stuff!) I'm definitely keeping most of those dresses for her. Some day I think she'll be glad to have them.  I think my favorite toys growing up were...The Lemon Twist and my Romper Stompers. I was never really much for dolls. Maybe my roller skates. I loved to roller skate when I was little.  One of those Romper Stompers came in really handy one day when my brother was slacking while we were supposed to be cleaning our play area. I whacked him right on the head with that thing. He had to get stitches and everything. BOY, DID I GET IN TROUBLE FOR THAT ONE.
