Southern Women's Show
Couple lessons learned from the Southern Women's Show this weekend:
If you're going to fill out little cards for all the giveaways and drawings, bring a stash of preprinted address labels like you get free in the mail so you can just stick them on the cards and drop them in the box for the drawing. I saw a couple of women doing this and thought it was ingenuous (of course, I then talked to a colleague of mine who says this is nothing new).
Bring a stroller, but not a kid to sit in it. Use it as a shopping cart.
It's been a long three days at the Southern Women's Show. But we met a lot of great people. I hope some of you have come to check Mom2Mom out.
During the show, I spent some time at the Mom Corps booth (thanks Marney!) talking with North Carolina authors and moms Amanda Lamb (author of "Smotherhood"), Paula Spencer (author of "Momfidence!") and Sara Ellington (co-author of "The Mommy Chronicles"). I hope we'll hear more from them on Mom2Mom in the coming months.
I also wanted to thank all the featured bloggers - Illyse, Natalie, Amy, Beth, Bonnie and Gigi - for coming out to help get the word out about Mom2Mom! They had no idea what they signed up for until they got there and I really appreciate all their help.
