Stress and Haagen-Dazs
If I could change anything about me, it would be not reacting to stress with a spoon.
I know there are billions of people who don't immediately dive into their Häagen-Dazs when life gets tough, but I do. I've tried just not buying the flavors I don't like (chocolate if you can believe it!), and then simply not buying ice cream at all. But then I found that ice cream was replaceable. This makes me think that banning spoons at my house won't help, either.
With three munchkins about, my stress level hits some mighty peaks. It drives me nuts when my sons take a proverbial Celtic knot lap through the yard when I tell them to get in the car. No matter how many times I say, "Okay, now we are late to XYZ, which you wanted to be a part of. Why? Because you did not listen to me..." My darling husband just nods his head in commiseration.
Tomorrow, I'm going to get them in the car 10 minutes before we have to leave and then make them wait until it's time to go. If it's not too hot anyway.
