Tantrums!

My oldest son is not the tantrum thrower. I don't think I'm going to get off so easily with number 2.
He's only 10-months but he already throws a fit if something is taken from him or when he's tired or hungry.
How old was your little one when he/she started having temper tantrums? How did you deal with them?
Thanks so much!!

My son (now 6) had tantrums up until he was 4 years old. To deal with them, I left him lying there crying (they were usually at home and if he cried in the store, I picked him up fireman-style over my shoulder and took him to the car). Last resort: I squirted water on him. Just a few drops. My mom had cats and I remember her doing this when the cats would misbehave. It worked like a charm.

I try to sit my 4 year old nephew somewhere where there's no distractions as sort of a time out thing and ignore him. I usually reward him when he's good so he kinda knows if hes going to act up he won't get anything from me.

His tatrum is a lot worse with his dad but everytime I babysit him which is pretty often, its not that bad. Thats what his fathers does and told me to do*

My son is 9 months old and he started his "tantrums" about a month ago. He cries when I take something he isn't supposed to play with away or if he goes near something I don't want him to. I say "No" and say his name in a stern voice and at first he kept doing what he was doing, but I've been doing it for about a month now and he actually responds to it. Also, I distract him with a toy of his and move him away from whatever he was playing with or take him to a completely different setting or room.
