I started piano around age 4 or so and I have started thinking about getting my daughter started in a year or so. She already has a little keyboard and likes to take out her "songbooks" and "play" from the books. It's really cute.
It was a drag practicing as I got older but I was pretty into it when I was young. I remember one recital where I had to memorize 10 short pieces and play them one after another. I was probably 9 or 10. I remember feeling like I'd really accomplished something.
